IMG Remodels Iconic Artwork for New York Fashion Week
For every Fashion Week the modeling agencies release show packages to the fashion world. The packages features individual cards with each model’s photo and their measurements and is likened to baseball cards. IMG Models has created an original and delightful concept for their fall 2012 New York Fashion Week package that has been creating buzz on the web.
As reported by the International Business Times "The agency turned their models into literal works of art by taking shots of them from editorial campaigns and superimposing them into famous artworks dating back to the pre-Renaissance."
While traditionally agencies have chosen a minimalist aesthetic for their packages, IMG's pastiche of the artwork plays on the pose, facial expression and clothing of the model's photograph to strategically enhance the overall image.
The cards appropriate iconic artwork by the likes of Lichtenstein, Dali, Tamara de Lempicka, Frida Kahlo and Jackson Pollock and feature some of the biggest modeling names in the business such as Candice Swanepoel, Frida Gustavsson, Jessica Stam, Joan Smalls, Lilly Donaldson, Karolina Kurkova and Ajak Den.
It really expresses how powerful and eye-catching the union of fashion and graphic design can be in today's market. Art Zulu thinks this is a great set and similarly has recognized the potential of working collaboratively with fashion and graphics.
Art Zulu's favorites are below but you can see the full set of show cards on IMG's blog.
